Job Summary

About company- Mid size Indian pharma company with multiple manufcaturing sites

We are seeking a highly skilled Patent Professional with expertise in intellectual property (IP) due diligence to support our R&D and business teams in evaluating patent landscapes conducting prior-art searches and assessing IP risks related to mergers acquisitions licensing and partnerships.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pharma (API) coupled with experience in patent analysis and IP strategy. Candidates with experience in API IPR domain will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare IP landscape reports to support research and development (R&D) initiatives.
Conduct ROS clearance polymorph evaluation patentability validity/invalidity freedom-to-operate and infringement searches within the API domain.
Support patent prosecution activities including invention disclosure reviews and patent application drafting.

Additional responsibilities:

Analyze competitor IP portfolios and market trends to provide insights for business decisions.
Monitor global patent filings litigations and approval trends.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education: M Sc (Organic chemistry/ Pharmaceutical Chemistry) OR M Pharm (Pharmaceutical Chemistry / Analysis) or Ph.D. in Organic chemistry or a related field.
Experience: 8-15 years of experience in patent analysis and IP due diligence specifically API IPR

Technical Skills: Proficiency in patent databases (USPTO EPO WIPO etc.) IP analytics tools and legal frameworks governing patents.
Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret complex scientific data and patent claims.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and presenting findings.
Attention to Detail: Ability to conduct thorough research and provide accurate assessments.
