Job Summary
- Lead and manage all yard fabrication activities ensuring alignment with project timelines quality standards and budgetary constraints.
- Develop and implement fabrication schedules work plans and resource allocation strategies to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Supervise and mentor a team of supervisors foremen and technical staff fostering a culture of accountability safety and performance.
- Coordinate closely with engineering procurement and project management teams to ensure seamless integration of fabrication with overall project execution.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols environmental regulations and quality management systems (ISO 9001 ISO 14001 etc.).
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of fabrication processes materials and workmanship to maintain compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Manage procurement and inventory of fabrication materials tools and equipment ensuring availability and cost-effectiveness.
- Resolve technical issues and production bottlenecks promptly minimizing delays and rework.
- Prepare and present performance reports KPIs and operational updates to senior management on a regular basis.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives including lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Metallurgical Engineering or a related field; postgraduate qualification or professional certification (e.g. PMP CFA or equivalent) is highly advantageous.
- 510 years of progressive experience in yard fabrication or industrial fabrication management within heavy engineering oil & gas power or industrial infrastructure sectors.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale fabrication projects with demonstrated success in meeting deadlines controlling costs and maintaining high-quality standards.
- In-depth knowledge of welding standards (ASME AWS ISO) material specifications and fabrication processes (cutting forming assembly NDT).
- Strong leadership and team management skills with experience in developing and leading multi-disciplinary teams.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project Primavera P6) ERP systems and MS Office Suite.
- Strong communication negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness to work in a dynamic high-pressure environment with frequent on-site presence at the Hazira facility.
- Ability to travel as required and work flexible hours including weekends and overtime to meet project demands.
Required Skills:
Bachelors degree in Business Administration Economics Statistics Finance or a related field. 25 years of relevant work experience in data analysis business analytics or a similar role. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions pivot tables VLOOKUP macros). Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI Tableau or Google Data Studio. Strong understanding of statistical concepts and data interpretation. Excellent analytical problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear actionable insights. Familiarity with SQL for data querying and extraction is a plus. Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools processes and business challenges.
