Job Summary

  • Annual Salary: $102669 per annum plus 15% superannuation

Support Traditional Owners by monitoring compliance on key land use agreements.

About the Role

As the Senior Contracts Compliance Officer you will play a central role in overseeing the effective management monitoring and administration of land use agreements across Aboriginal land and sea country within the NLC regions. Reporting to the Manager Permits Agreements & Compliance Team (PACT) you will ensure contracting parties meet their non-financial obligations.

Your day-to-day work will include managing agreement performance conducting regular compliance reviews preparing reports for senior leadership refining contract management systems and procedures and liaising closely with Traditional Owners stakeholders and contracting parties. You will also contribute to the development and implementation of contract management plans support the Permit Administration System and escalate significant compliance issues to the Legal Team when required.

This senior position is ideal for someone who thrives on complex compliance work values accuracy and accountability and is committed to supporting outcomes that protect cultural values and uphold the rights of Traditional Owners.

About You

You are an experienced contract management professional who brings strong technical capability sound judgement and a high level of professionalism to your work. You have experience navigating complex agreements maintaining strong stakeholder relationships and operating effectively within legislative and organisational frameworks

You will bring:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications such as an Advanced Diploma of Business Contract Management or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years practical experience in contract management or a related field
  • Strong ICT capability with experience using systems such as ALTAR CRM TRIM or the ability to quickly learn new platforms
  • Current Northern Territory Drivers licence or ability to obtain one prior to commencement

Knowledge and understanding of the relevant legislation affecting Aboriginal land and sea management including the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976 (Cth.) and the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth.)

We offer:

  • Base salary $% superannuation
  • Salary packaging up to $15900 p.a. ( $2650 meals/accommodation)
  • District allowance: $2678 (Without dependents) or $4884 (with dependents)
  • Five (5) weeks annual leave 18 days personal leave.

Important Dates

The NLCs annual close-down period runs from 22 December 2025 to 4 January 2026.

The organisation will relocate to its new Berrimah office in early January with new employees commencing from 20 January 2026
