We are looking for a new Laboratory Officer to join ourtechnical departmentat Boyne Smelter in an exciting and transformational time.
This role is a great opportunity for people with knowledge of Optical Emissions Spectrometers and a passion for quality. We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work and are passionate about safety and continuous improvement.
This position is offered on a fulltime permanent basis working a Lifestyle shift Roster. Working in a climate controlled laboratory environment onsite @ Boyne Smelters.
Reporting to the Superintendent and working within a small team some of your key tasks will include:

This role is a shift work position - working 3 days 2 nights and 5 days off on a continuous alternating roster.

Where youll be working
Boyne Smelters Limited is Australias second largest aluminium smelter with a 1000-person strong workforce. Located approximately 20km south east of Gladstone at Boyne Island on the Central Queensland coast BSL produces around 500000 tonnes of aluminium per annum.
Activities at BSL include manufacturing carbon anodes in the carbon plant aluminium production (smelting) in reduction lines and casting of molten material into aluminium products ready to ship. The smelter is connected via a conveyor belt to the Queensland Alumina Limited refinery for the supply of alumina.
