About The Team

The Learning Teaching and Technology team sits within the Portfolio of the Deputy Vice Chancellor Education and plays a central role in delivering contemporary accessible and inclusive education across the University. The portfolio is committed to highquality learning experiences that help every student succeed and graduate with adaptability fresh perspectives and a strong social conscience.

Work Integrated Learning (WIL) is an important part of this commitment providing students with meaningful realworld experiences that strengthen employability confidence and career readiness. The WIL team works closely with industry and community partners to create coordinate and support placements ensuring students have valuable and positive workplace learning opportunities.

Your New Role!

We are seeking motivated and organised individuals to join our Work Integrated Learning (WIL) team as Senior Placement Officers (internally titled Senior WIL Officer). In these roles youll support students academics and industry partners by coordinating highquality placements that help students build confidence and realworld experience.

Youll play an important part in ensuring every placement runs smoothly from preparing students and liaising with workplace supervisors to managing compliance documentation and communication across the placement lifecycle.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Building and managing supportive relationships with students staff industry and community partners
  • Coordinating placement activities including communication compliance checks documentation and reporting
  • Supporting consistent highquality placement processes across different disciplines
  • Providing training and assistance for SONIA and other placement systems
  • Contributing to process improvements that enhance the WIL experience for students and partners

The positions attract an annual remuneration of $80000 $98000 (pro-rata if part time) plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.

What youll bring to the role:

  • Relevant experience in placements Work Integrated Learning coordination administration or a similar role with the ability to learn highereducation processes quickly.
  • Strong communication and relationshipbuilding skills enabling you to work confidently with students staff industry and community partners.
  • Demonstrated coordination and organisational capability including managing multiple tasks deadlines and compliance requirements.
  • High digital proficiency including Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Experience using placement or student management systems such as SONIA (highly regarded but not essential).
  • A collaborative teamfocused approach with the ability to work independently show initiative solve problems and support continuous improvement.
  • A commitment to equity inclusion and positive student experiences ensuring all students feel supported throughout their placement journey.
