About the RoleThe HR Generalist plays a critical role in supporting employees and leaders within a unionized manufacturing environment. Youll administer key HR programsincluding employee relations engagement leave management and training coordinationto ensure a positive compliant and consistent employee experience. From supporting frontline employees to partnering with operations and union representatives youll help maintain strong working relationships uphold policy and contractual requirements and reinforce a high-performing workplace Youll DoRespond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies procedures and programs and direct individuals to the appropriate resourcesServe as the first point of contact for employee relations concerns policy interpretation contract provisions and performance managementAdminister and track employee leave programs including FMLA ADA short-term disability and long-term disabilityPartner with operations teams to support staffing coverage plans during employee leavesWork with the Training & Development Coordinator to coordinate and track plant training and development programsAssist in creating and maintaining training materials SOPs work instructions and process updates in collaboration with Training & Development and OperationsAssist with operational projects workforce planning and staffing initiativesSupport HR policy administration and ensure compliance with employment laws regulations and company policiesComplete personnel transactions and maintain accurate employee data recordsPerform other duties as assigned to support plant and HR objectivesWhat Were Looking ForExperience in a manufacturing or union environment is a plusExperience with Dayforce or other HRIS platforms preferredSelf-motivated with strong decision-making capabilitiesExcellent organizational and time management skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office and general PC applicationsStrong leadership project management and interpersonal skillsAssociate degree required; professional HR certification preferred2 years of experienceOrganizational ValuesSafety Teamwork Customer Focus Ownership Initiative CreativityAt Hoffmaster our core values guide how we work and support each other every day.
