Job Summary
Applications are invited for appointment asPart-time Teaching Assistant in the Department of Sociology(Ref.: 533885) to commence as soon as possible on January 1 2026 for 5 months with possibility of renewal based on satisfactory performance and funding availability.
Applicants should possess a good Bachelors degree or a Master Degree in Sociology or Criminology with at least one years experience in teaching support in tertiary education settings. They should have excellent analytical problem-solving and communication skills as well as an excellent command of written and spoken English. Preferences will be given to those with relevant experience in teaching degree programmes and a background in criminology.
The appointee will work primarily onourCriminology courses. He/She will assist course instructors in course preparation and administration; conduct tutorials and lead in-class discussions; support field trips and other academic activities; grade assignments and tests; invigilate examinations; provide consultative support to students outside class; manage the web-based course Moodle; and perform any other duties as assigned.
