Location:
Santa Fe Indian Health Center. Santa Fe NM 87505
Rotate to three Outlying Satellite Clinics (Santa Clara Health Center San Felipe Health Clinic & Cochiti Health Clinic) as needed.
Pay Rate: $ per hour
Schedule:
Monday through Friday estimated varied shifts: 8-hour shift with 1-hour lunch break (8:00 am to 5:00 pm) 8-hour shift with 30-minute lunch break (8:00 am to 4:30 pm) or 10-hour shift with 30-minute lunch break (8:00 am to 6:00 pm) at least 40 hours per week.
Contract Length: 1 year with the option to extend.
Benefits: $ per hour for Health and Welfare PTO (5 days at 6 months 5 more at year) sick leave accrued 56 hours per year and holiday pay.
Job Description: The Certified Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to outpatient and urgent care services within the Santa Fe Indian Health Center and its satellite clinics. This role includes patient screening clinical support specimen collection vaccination assistance and general patient care duties across all age groups in accordance with IHS standards.
Requirements:
1 year of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant
Degree or diploma from a medical assistant program approved by the legally designated State accrediting agency.
High school graduate and possess a valid diploma working towards an Associate s degree.
Valid unrestricted medical assistant license in a state the District of Columbia the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico or a Territory of the United States throughout the term of this contract.
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are preferred.
Fingerprinting and Background check process after acceptance.
Responsibilities:
Perform patient screening and assist with direct patient care.
Collect COVID-19 test specimens and support vaccination clinics.
Assist with identifying and isolating COVID-positive patients.
Conduct venipuncture specimen collection and preparation for lab processing.
Assist with vaccine administration medication administration and clinical screenings.
Provide patient support in neonatal pediatric adolescent adult and geriatric care settings.
Answer patient calls document concerns and report to nursing staff.
Perform point-of-care testing (urinalysis pregnancy tests rapid strep influenza glucose etc.).
Adhere to all IHS policies procedures and facility conduct standards.
