Schedule: MondayFriday 9:00 AM 5:00 PM
Hours: 37.5 per week
Pay Rate: Up to $19/hour (based on experience)
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a reliable and skilled Medical Office Assistant for a full-time contract assignment. The Medical Office Assistant will provide both clinical and administrative support to physicians and surgeons ensuring smooth daily operations and high-quality patient care.
This role requires strong patient interaction skills proficiency in clinical tasks and experience managing busy medical office workflows.
Responsibilities
Clinical Support
Perform essential patient care tasks including:
Vitals venipuncture and EKGs
Preparing patients for exams; assisting with walking transferring and dressing
Collecting and processing specimens
Point-of-care testing and exam room preparation
Assist providers during procedures
Relay instructions and follow-up details to patients and families
Follow safety and infection control protocols
Perform phlebotomy as needed
Administrative & Office Support
Answer incoming calls provide information and manage schedules
Receive/send medical records labs x-rays and referrals
Update patient demographic and insurance information
Maintain charts forms requisitions and documentation
Enter EMR orders or assist with prescription refill preparation
Maintain exam room setup and restock supplies
Keep logs updated (refrigeration POC testing sterilization crash cart etc.)
Verify insurance and assist with pre-certifications
Help coordinate scheduling for procedures or surgeries
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Experience
Minimum of 3 years working as a Medical Assistant
Clinical and medical office experience required
Phlebotomy experience preferred
Education & Certifications
High School Diploma or GED
Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Strong communication skills and ability to work with multicultural patient populations
