Requirements
Education:
- Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
Licenses & Certifications:
- Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Ohio
- National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Active AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
Skills:
- Strong clinical knowledge and assessment skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients
- Proficiency in performing physical examinations and procedures relevant to their specialty
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to diagnose and manage complex medical conditions
- Time management skills to manage a patient workload efficiently
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a healthcare team
Experience:
- While specific requirements may vary most locum PA positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty
Additional Notes:
- Locum tenens PA positions are temporary assignments often lasting weeks or months to address staffing shortages in hospitals surgical centers or other healthcare facilities
