This contract on-site position offers a unique opportunity for professionals at the associate level to contribute to our patient-centered approach in a dynamic healthcare environment.
As a Locum Pathologist you will play a critical role in diagnosing diseases overseeing laboratory operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality pathology services. This position not only supports our clinical teams but also allows you to engage in meaningful patient care that directly impacts the community.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic examinations on tissue samples and bodily fluids
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to discuss diagnoses and treatment plans
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of pathology results
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical advancements in pathology
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives
- Provide education and training to laboratory staff as needed
- Engage in professional development and continuing education
- Assist in the management of laboratory operations and protocols
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Completion of a residency in pathology
- Valid medical license to practice in New York
- Strong analytical and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems and technology
- Commitment to patient care and ethical standards in practice
Schedule: Monday-Friday full-time or part-time
No call shifts
Daily Volume: 30 cases mostly biopsies
General pathology
Diverse caseload primarily GI biopsies
Grossing required
Support Staff: 3 additional pathologists histotechnologists
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
Paid travel & expenses
