Job Description
This position is responsible for managing Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) aircraft including serving as the chief mechanic. This includes scheduling assigning and performing required periodic and unscheduled aircraft maintenance as prescribed by Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and Air Transport Flight Operations Manual. This position also functions as a supervisor of maintenance personnel. Duties include but are not limited to maintaining aircraft maintenance records managing aircraft spare parts room and inventories and assuring safety and maintenance of building and hangar/shop facilities.
The Salary listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate through the maximum rate of the Aircraft Mechanic Supervisor 12 position.

Required Education and Experience
Education
Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.
Experience
Six years of experience as a licensed aircraft mechanic.

- Possess a FAA issued Mechanic Certificate at the time of hire into the position and must maintain throughout employment in the position.
- Possess a FAA Inspector Authorization within 12 months of the date of hire into the position and must maintain throughout employment in the position.
