Course Number and Title:IRE1720HS - Managing Organizational Change


Course Description:

This course has two objectives: (1) to introduce students to the field of organizational change management and (2) to enhance students analytic and implementation skills. It focuses on understanding organizational change aligning human resources to organizational change and implementing organizational change. The class process is participative. As much of the learning will come from discussions and experiential exercises with peers it is vital that students come prepared to make contributions of quality to the content and process of discussions students will practice appreciative inquiry skills.

Estimated Course Enrolment: 25-30 students

Estimated TA Support: TBD based on course enrollment levels

Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays 18:00 20:00

This course is scheduled to be delivered note that the course delivery method may change as determined by the University or the Centre.

Minimum Qualifications:CompletedPh.D. in Industrial Relations Human Resources or related discipline or a combination of advanced degrees ( in applicable area) and equivalent professional background.

Preferred Qualifications:Expert knowledge of the subject area and demonstrated ability in university teaching. Previous experience in teaching a similar course is preferred.

Description of Duties:Prepare a course syllabus in accordance with departmental guidelines. Prepare and deliver lectures (12 two-hour classes); be available for office hours and informal communications with students. Assess and evaluate students work and provide final course grades in accordance with university and department practices. Supervision of Teaching Assistant(s) if applicable.
