Responsible for marine cargo underwriting activities and P&L responsibility managing UW relationship with intermediaries and business partners in the area of underwriting service delivery product development and innovation.

Your new role:

  • Take charge of underwriting and profit & loss responsibilities for our dynamic Marine Cargo portfolio.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with intermediaries and business partners driving excellence in underwriting service delivery product innovation and development.
  • Lead the way in growing Gross Written Premium (GWP) by forging impactful connections with Major Trading Partners (MTP) and brokers.
  • Commit to your ongoing technical development striving towards the ideal Desired Achievement Level and professional growth.
  • Assess risks for both new and renewal business ensuring every decision supports profitable portfolio growth and aligns with our high standards.
  • Stay ahead of the curve by closely monitoring market trends and demonstrating a keen awareness of market cycles to inform effective underwriting decisions.
  • Ensure all underwriting activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements safeguarding our obligations and reputation.
  • Follow established underwriting standards and best practices to minimise risks and maximise operational efficiency.
  • Cultivate collaborative relationships with customers intermediaries and internal teams contributing to our culture of partnership and shared success.

About you:

  • Over 7 years proven expertise in the insurance sector with a strong track record in underwriting and portfolio management
  • Proficient in utilising advanced risk profiling pricing tools and loss modelling techniques to drive informed decision-making
  • Well-established network of customer and broker relationships enabling successful partnership cultivation and business growth
  • In-depth understanding of market dynamics and conditions specific to Marine Cargo and related insurance products
  • Comprehensive knowledge of class-specific underwriting and reinsurance practices ensuring robust risk assessment and portfolio profitability
  • Competent user of industry-relevant software including Excel and departmental platforms supporting efficient analysis and operational excellence
