Responsible for marine cargo underwriting activities and P&L responsibility managing UW relationship with intermediaries and business partners in the area of underwriting service delivery product development and innovation.

Your new role:

Take charge of underwriting and profit & loss responsibilities for our dynamic Marine Cargo portfolio.
Build and nurture strong relationships with intermediaries and business partners driving excellence in underwriting service delivery product innovation and development.
Lead the way in growing Gross Written Premium (GWP) by forging impactful connections with Major Trading Partners (MTP) and brokers.
Commit to your ongoing technical development striving towards the ideal Desired Achievement Level and professional growth.
Assess risks for both new and renewal business ensuring every decision supports profitable portfolio growth and aligns with our high standards.
Stay ahead of the curve by closely monitoring market trends and demonstrating a keen awareness of market cycles to inform effective underwriting decisions.
Ensure all underwriting activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements safeguarding our obligations and reputation.
Follow established underwriting standards and best practices to minimise risks and maximise operational efficiency.
Cultivate collaborative relationships with customers intermediaries and internal teams contributing to our culture of partnership and shared success.

About you:

Over 7 years proven expertise in the insurance sector with a strong track record in underwriting and portfolio management
Proficient in utilising advanced risk profiling pricing tools and loss modelling techniques to drive informed decision-making
Well-established network of customer and broker relationships enabling successful partnership cultivation and business growth
In-depth understanding of market dynamics and conditions specific to Marine Cargo and related insurance products
Comprehensive knowledge of class-specific underwriting and reinsurance practices ensuring robust risk assessment and portfolio profitability
Competent user of industry-relevant software including Excel and departmental platforms supporting efficient analysis and operational excellence
