This is afull-time positionworking 35 hours a week Monday through Friday in the afternoon and evening.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities for theAfter SchoolSports & Fitness Youth Program Director (011)Position:
- Assist with recruiting training and evaluating departmental staff.
- Supervise assigned staff members in all phases of their work.
- Recruit members to consistently participate in sports & fitness programming.
- Ensure members demonstrate new skills and sportsmanship.
- Develop instructional and competitive games sports and various activities.
- Ensure thorough evaluation for all departmental programs and services.
- Initiate and maintain community contacts with families schools and other organizations and institutions to enhance programs and services.
- Ensure a healthy safe environment in program areas.
- Deliver fun and engaging programming for boys and girls ages 6-18.
Required Skills/Knowledge for theAfter SchoolSports & Fitness Youth Program Director(011) Position:
- A four-year degree from a state-accredited university/college and a minimum of 2 years in a related field.
- Ability to communicate effectively with young people from diverse backgrounds ages 6-18 as well as a range of other organizational personnel in a courteous and professional manner.
- Highly motivated and dedicated to the organizational mission.
- Demonstrated ability to plan conduct and supervise sports and fitness activities including tournaments games challenges and special events.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Proven track record of engaging youth in a responsible and mature manner.
