Projected End Date: 06/30/2026 (Potential for Extension/Conversion to FTE)
Position Overview: Under the direct supervision of the Labor Market Information (LMI) Director the Program Manager will lead and manage the Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (OEWS) survey program. This role involves supervising OEWS staff overseeing data collection and analysis ensuring compliance with Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) Cooperative Agreement requirements and driving continuous process improvements.
Key Responsibilities: - Supervise coach and mentor OEWS team members.
- Monitor program performance metrics and implement process improvements.
- Assign survey workloads and assist with data collection entry and review.
- Lead address refinement for OEWS sample surveys to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct comprehensive review of survey responses for data integrity and correctness.
- Manage non-response follow-up efforts via phone email fax or on-site visits.
- Perform quality assurance checks and resolve data discrepancies.
- Review preliminary and final OEWS estimates; provide corrections and suppressions as needed.
- Coordinate with regional and national offices on OEWS work statements and estimation schedules.
- Recruit and onboard new team members as required.
- Participate in regular training and occasional out-of-state travel.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - 2 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role (preferably in data collection or analysis).
- Experience with data collection programs.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Skills: - 2 years of experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with statistical review and analysis.
- Database analysis experience.
Additional Information: - Local candidates only must be available for in-person interviews within one week of posting close date and able to start within two weeks of offer.
- Hybrid schedule initial training will require more in-office presence transitioning to hybrid later.
