Role Overview:

As a Housing and Property Officer you will play a key role in delivering high-quality tenancy and property management services across Community Housing Limiteds Darwin portfolio. This is a practical hands-on position dedicated to achieving positive outcomes for tenants landlords and service providers through effective property management and respectful tenant engagement. Working as part of a local team supported by a larger interstate team you will ensure compliance with legislative requirements while fostering tenancy sustainability and community wellbeing. The role demands strong communication skills and the ability to adapt quickly shifting from resolving maintenance issues to updating tenancy management systems with accuracy and efficiency. A proactive solutions-focused approach and a can-do attitude will be essential to your success.

What Youll Do:

You are a skilled and adaptable professional who thrives in diverse community settings. With strong problem-solving abilities you can balance the needs of tenants and landlords while ensuring compliance with the Residential Tenancies Act. You bring excellent communication and organisational skills a commitment to cultural awareness and the ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

What Were Looking for:

To be successful you will demonstrate:

  • Strong literacy numeracy and computer skills.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal people and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act and tenancy management practices.
  • Ability to balance tenancy support with landlord property requirements.
  • Understanding of mandatory reporting requirements.
  • Current Drivers Licence.
  • Current Police Clearance and NT Working with Children Check.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.

Please note that a satisfactory police check is required for all staff and those with client related responsibilities are required to provide a NDIS and Working with Children Check (WWCC).
