DSHS FTAA IT Customer Support Senior
Join our team as an IT Customer Support Senior in Olympia within the Finance Technology and Analytics Administration (FTAA). In this role you will provide primary information technology (IT) support to the DSHS Office of the Secretary (OOS) FTAA and their subdivisions. Reporting directly to the ExecIT Manager you will ensure smooth and reliable operations by building configuring and maintaining a wide variety of IT equipment including desktops laptops (including Apple Mac) mobile devices (iPhones iPads) and peripherals. You will also support teleconferencing systems in executive offices and conference rooms and troubleshoot remote connectivity from any agency-approved location enabling secure and efficient access to state IT systems for both state-owned and personal devices. This position is critical to keeping DSHS leadership and teams connected and productive across the agency.

Some of what youll do:

  • Serve as lead technical support for executive staff within the Office of the Secretary (OOS) and Finance Technology and Analytics Administration (FTAA).
  • Provide deskside on-demand IT assistance resolving complex technical issues promptly.
  • Coordinate and prioritize IT support requests for executive leadership ensuring timely service delivery.
  • Provide Tier 2 technical support for devices applications networking and telecommunication systems.
  • Administer and maintain servers Active Directory and third-party applications supporting executive operations.
  • Ensure information security compliance through updates virus protection and system patching.
  • Manage IT asset inventories and maintain accurate tracking using service management tools.
  • Lead and participate in agency projects developing new procedures and enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Train IT staff and executive customers on new technologies and system procedures.
  • Serve as backup support for other IT team members and participate in ongoing professional development.

Desired skills knowledge and abilities:
  • Two years of experience supporting executives in state service.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 tools and products virtual desktop environments and Managed File Transfer (MFT).
  • Communicate technical information clearly using plain talk principles while building strong customer relationships.
  • Apply advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose evaluate and resolve complex IT issues.
  • Plan organize and prioritize multiple assignments to deliver accurate timely results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Troubleshoot configure and administer hardware software and network systems in a domain environment.
  • Interpret business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment confidentiality and professionalism while working independently.
  • Possess strong knowledge of DSHS WaTech HIPAA and CJIS IT policies and security standards.
  • Mentor others to strengthen team capabilities.

Who should apply
We are looking for information technology professionals who meet one of the following qualifications:
  • Four years of IT experience with enterprise Microsoft O365 Active Directory/Azure/Intunes Managed Print Services (MPS) switch management desktop support (Windows 11) asset management and auditing
    OR
  • An associate degree in Management Information Systems Computer Information Technology or a related field and two years of experience installing configuring and maintaining computer workstation hardware software and peripherals;
    OR
  • A bachelors degree in Management Information Systems Computer Information Technology or a related field

Additional information:
  • Work schedule: 40 hours per week Monday through Friday.
  • This position will begin in-office five days a week and will transition to a hybrid work schedule after a probationary period.
  • Travel may be required within a 30-mile radius to support regional DSHS offices.
