Job Goal/Summary: To serve as an instructional and administrative leader for the ACCESS Support Center to work with staff students and community to ensure a high-quality educational program and to formulate and accomplish the support centers mission.
Qualifications:
- Masters Degree with Alabama State Department of Education Administrative Certification
- Three (3) years school administration experience required
- Three (3) years successful experience as a classroom teacher (Secondary level preferred)
- Valid Drivers License
FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports To: Chief Academic Officer
Background Check Required: (Ala. Code 16-22a-5 ) Upon offer of employment employees will be required to submit legible fingerprints for a background review by the Alabama Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Background checks may not be more than ten (10) years old.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organizational technology and communication skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of principles and practices of distance learning
- Comprehensive knowledge of current curriculum and instructional practices and trends
- Initiative self-reliance professional attitude and appearance are necessary attributes
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a courteous helpful cooperative attitude with personnel ALSDE and support center partners.
- Oversee the Recruitment hiring training and supervising of ACCESS online and VCI teachers.
- Supervise ACCESS budget and other recordkeeping for ACCESS grant
- Provide necessary support for ACCESS Teachers Principals Counselors Facilitators and Students
- Ensure all state reports are completed accurately and forwarded to the ALSDE in a timely manner.
- Serve as liaison with the Alabama State Department of Education and support center partners in reference to the ACCESS distance learning program
- Travel as needed to provide support training and collaboration for ACCESS stakeholders
- Oversee the supervision of scheduling for ACCESS students and teachers
- Supervise the planning and Implementation of training events for regional ACCESS Teachers Facilitators Principals and Counselors
- Supervise the Promotion of ACCESS at Regional and State Conferences.
- This position will be subject to the Students First Act of 2011. Madison City Schools reserves the right to fill this position by transfer of a qualified applicant who is already employed by Madison City Schools.
- Under the Students First Act of 2011 no credit toward tenure or non-probationary status is earned in the initial school year of employment if the date of hire occurs after September 30.
Expected Employment: 240 days (full year)
Evaluation: According to established Board policies and administrative procedures and guidelines.
