Job Description Summary
Responsible for cage wash processing logistics and inventory control in a state-of-the-art
facility. Completes facility duties according to standard operating procedures while ensuring a
consistent sanitization program.
Job Description
Operates mechanical cage wash units bulk steam sterilizers decontamination equipment
and material-transfer vacuum systems according to standard operating procedures and
manufacturer instructions.
Develops and implements standard operating procedures to provide a safe environment
and quality supplies.
Documents organize and maintains preventative maintenance records and manufacturer
specification materials.
Processes all animal cage components & related equipment through mechanical cage
bottle rack or tunnel washers.
Responsible for maintaining adequate levels of sanitization chemicals.
Oversight of bulk bedding silos.
Maintains fixed equipment filters air-handler and cage-top filters.
Performs quality assurance monitoring and record-keeping ensuring proper sanitation.
Must have an in-depth understanding of equipment maintenance washing equipment
operation and safety components cleaning and sterilization cycles.
Ensures compliance with required regulations and consistently follows program and
institutional procedures and policies.
Must be able to troubleshoot and report mechanical failures immediately to management.
Other related duties as assigned.
