Maintains proficiency in all areas of the Department of Pharmacy Services within the scope of a pharmacy technician job responsibilities.2. Prepares medication in unit dose packaging and labels medications using repackaging software.3. Performs routine rounds to patient care floors to deliver medication and miscellaneous supplies.4. Assesses assigned medication storage areas for outdated medication cleanliness and appropriate stocking.5. Fills automated dispensing machines using barcode technology.6. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to support the pharmacist in service of the needs of institutional patients.7. Assist in all areas of the Pharmacy Department as time permits from scheduled assignments.8. Performs required pharmaceutical dosage calculations necessary to prepare sterile and non-sterile preparations.9. Under direction of a pharmacist compounds non-sterile preparations in accordance with USP Chapter < 795> and established policies and procedures.10. Under direction of a pharmacist compounds sterile preparations in accordance with USP Chapter < 797> and established policies and procedures. Replenishes stock in compounding areas (medication needles syringes IV fluids) per procedure.11. Under direction of a pharmacist compounds hazardous preparations in accordance with USP Chapter < 800> and established policies and procedures.12. Identifies and disposes of outdated medications and patient specific compounded preparations.13. Triages phone calls to the appropriate individual within the pharmacy department when answering the phone.14. Provides outstanding customer service to external customers including nurses physicians and patients.15. Assists with orientation of new pharmacy technician staff.16. Restocks emergency code cart trays and kits. Maintains corresponding records.17. Refills and restocks anesthesia medication trays. Maintains corresponding records.18. Maintains neatness and organization of work area.19. Carries out other duties and responsibilities as required by the technician supervisor pharmacists or pharmacy information in attachment
