The County of Santa Barbaras Information Technology Department has one (1) temporary vacancy for a Workday (ERP) Technical Support Specialistin Santa Barbara CA (hybrid). The county classification title is Computer Systems Specialist II.
Civil Service Rule 905. Extra Help Appointment.
This position is Extra Help and at-will and is governed by Civil Service Rule 905. An Extra Help appointment is defined as an appointment made to a non-regular non-permanent position established on a temporary basis to meet peak loads unusual work situations seasonal and recurrent work intermittent assignments or emergencies. Such appointment except emergency appointment shall not exceed one thousand forty hours in the twelve-month period immediately following the first day of the first appointment of the incumbent unless extended by prior approval of the Civil Service Commission.
Benefits will be offered once EXH employees reach Affordable Care Act (ACA) eligibility.
Description: Under general supervision oversees and monitors the status of integrations within the Countys Workday ERP system to ensure smooth data flow; performs preliminary research and creates tickets for issues for further troubleshooting by the Senior Integrations Analyst. This role would also provide metrics on job executions duration and logs and follow up on tickets for quick issue detection and resolution.
This role is a hybrid onsite/remote role with onsite work required weekly (days to be determined) and is approximately 15-20 hours per week.
Examples of Duties
- Monitoring Job Executions:Tracking the total number of job executions identifying failures and analyzing each job to detect performance issues.
- Incident Management:Providing support for integration issues and managing any problems that arise.
- Data Flow and Logging:Retrieving job execution logs to help identify the root cause of any failures or unexpected behavior.
- Alerting:Sending alerts to notify the team when a specific integration fails or shows abnormal behavior allowing for proactive intervention.
- Performance Monitoring:Conducting performance monitoring of integrations and making recommendations for improvements.
- Assists staff with other administrative tasks as needed.
Employment Standards
The knowledge skills and abilities listedheremay be acquired through various types of training education and experience. A typical way to acquire the required knowledge and abilities would be:
- The employment standards for this classification vary by assignment but will include completion of training in the general principles of computerized applications basic principles of computer programming and the use of computer applications that are similar to those currently used by the hiring department;and a minimum of two years of experience in one or more of the following areas: A) providing direct technical support to others using computer equipment for office applications on a local area or wide area network including desktop configurations; hardware and software installation maintenance and troubleshooting; user access and problem-solving; B) adapting existing database software spreadsheets and other programs to best meet end user needs or C) developing and maintaining internet or intranet web sites; or
- One year of experience as a Computer Systems Specialist I with the County of Santa Barbara; or
- A combination of training education and experience equivalent to the employment standards listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
