Job Summary

Job Overview

The ERP Technical Specialist is responsible for providing support and oversight as well as
providing functional and technical support related to the software systems operated and utilized by the Department of Digital Innovation (DDI). The incumbent will be a subject matter expert onDDI business processes and the technical tools used to execute them. The ERP TechnicalSpecialist will participate in team projects to enhance existing systems and business processes.


Role and Responsibilities
The following information is intended to describe the overall nature and scope of the work being performed in relation to the position. This is not a comprehensive listing of all responsibilities or tasks; other work may be assigned when deemed appropriate:

  • Provide technical support for core enterprise business and K-12 specialty applications inuse by schools and offices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Performs analysis assessment and planning activities to enhance and streamline theeffectiveness and efficiency of business applications.
  • Assists in developing solutions relevant to business needs detailing businessrequirements and managing interfaces.
  • Collaborates with team members vendors/providers and information technology teams.
  • Works with stakeholders on activities such as process mapping gathering functional andtechnical requirements testing and delivery of solutions.
  • Provides end user assistance and training related to multiple applications includingEnterprise Resource Planning Human Capital Management Recruiting K-12 school specialty finance School Nutrition Transportation Substitute Teacher Management andother software and tools.
  • Works closely with cross functional teams such as Accounting Procurement PayrollBudget and Benefits to ensure accuracy and successful delivery of work product.
  • Provides prompt and courteous customer support; works with team members aboutproject statuses and the resolution of system issues; performs appropriate follow up ensure progress on work items.
  • Assists with applications testing during implementations updates and upgrades.
  • Maintains and develops user friendly documentation to ensure proper use of anapplication.
  • Prepares weekly & monthly report

Qualifications
Below are the minimum qualifications for this job. Equivalent combinations of education and
experience are also acceptable.

Education
Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university

Experience

Three years of experience in system support testing development and design

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the principles practices and techniques ofmanagement information systems; standard office practices and procedures; standard word processing and spreadsheet software; as well as the safekeeping and storage of confidential files
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct and document business process mapping developmeasurements perform analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform office work promptly and efficiently; to plan organizeand prioritize work effectively; to communicate effectively; to work cooperatively with others; to work under pressure and/or with frequent interruptions
  • Ability to develop technical and user requirements for emerging technologies
  • Ability to test applications to ensure accuracy and compliance with operationalrequirements.
  • Ability to implement technology solutions and work with multi-disciplinary teams

exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. The employee must convey detailed or
important spoken instructions to other workers accurately loudly or quickly. The employee must possess normal cognitive abilities including the ability to learn recall and apply certain practices and policies. Frequently sitting and/or remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects.

Telework is defined as completing ones duties and responsibilities at a site other than ones assigned duty order to be eligible for telework privileges an employee must have demonstrated consistent positive performance and have the support and approval of their direct addition these employees must have reliable high-speed internet and a designated workspace that allows them privacy while completing sensitive and confidential work. Employees who are non-exempt and are teleworking will work their required scheduled hours and gain approval from their supervisor if they work more than 8 hours a day or more than 40 hours in a workweek. Teleworking privileges can be amended changed or revoked based upon the performance of the employee as well as the needs of Loudoun County Public Schools.
