About the role

This role will support the delivery and coordination of policy and legislative initiatives across LLS and with NSW Government agency partners to support the effective implementation of LLS core functions. The role has a critical position as a trusted source of policy and legislative advice on issues relating to LLS roles and responsibilities and wider relevant Government policy and legislation.

About you

You will have experience in policy and legislative development and analysis including the ability to manage multiple projects with competing timeframes set priorities meet deadlines and work as part of a team. You will have demonstrated skills in providing advice on a range of complex issues to senior stakeholders in government and industry and an understanding of Government Cabinet and legislative processes.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Detailed knowledge of the machinery of Government including Cabinet and legislative processes and ability to understand and interpret a wide variety of legislation and expertise in policy development implementation and review.
  • Broad understanding of relevant biodiversity agricultural land management and native vegetation policy and legislative frameworks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication interpersonal and critical analysis skills
  • Strong interpersonal and time management skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
