Manager, Data Architecture & Governance

Data Architecture Leadership

• Develop and maintain enterprise data frameworks policies and standards.
• Align data architecture with business goals and IT strategy.
• Define data ownership classification and lifecycle management.
• Design data flows and integration strategies to enable trusted access.
• Partner with IT and analytics teams to evolve data platforms and infrastructure.
• Monitor performance and recommend tools to enhance capabilities.
• Establish and report on data maturity KPIs.

Enterprise Data Governance

• Lead the rollout and maintenance of a corporate data governance program.
• Establish data stewardship practices and quality management structures.
• Chair the Data Governance Council to drive accountability and alignment.
• Collaborate with Security Risk and Compliance to ensure regulatory adherence.

Strategic Enablement & Advisory

• Act as the enterprise subject matter expert on data architecture and governance.
• Provide thought leadership on how data can drive business performance.
• Support enterprise-wide personalization and marketing initiatives.
• Champion data literacy through training and awareness programs.

Collaboration & Culture Building

• Build strong relationships across departments and with external partners.
• Influence stakeholders to align on data priorities and strategy.
• Help instill a data-first mindset across the organization.

Education & Experience

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems Data Management or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in data architecture governance or enterprise data strategy.
• At least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Must be 19 years of age or older and reside in Atlantic Canada.

Technical Skills

• Deep understanding of data architecture tools data quality frameworks and metadata management.
• Proficient in data modeling ETL pipelines and data warehousing.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g. Azure AWS GCP) and modern data stack tools.
• Familiarity with data analytics tools and software (e.g. Alteryx Power BI Tableau Google 365).
• Working knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g. PIPEDA PCI ISO 27001).
• Experience with system development life cycle (SDLC) agile and lean methodologies infrastructure and operations and ITIL frameworks.
• Experience with enterprise systems and data integration tools.
• Proven track record of implementing data governance frameworks and enterprise data architecture.

• Strong communication facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to influence teams drive accountability and lead cultural change.

Assets (Preferred but Not Required)

• Experience in gaming lottery financial services or other highly regulated industries.
• Change management experience.
• Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP).
• TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification.
• Cloud Data Architect certifications (e.g. Azure AWS GCP).
