The Grind uses locally roasted coffee to create a great cup of coffee as well as a wide selection of espresso drinks. Fresh bakery is served at most locations as well as other beverage options for the non-coffee drinker.
Under the general supervision of a Food Service Manager the incumbent will act as lead Supervisor for the operation of the university ownedGRINDcoffee shop unit(s) or other areas as assigned. The incumbent will be responsible for opening and/or closing procedures and daily operation of the unit(s) providing fast food type products as appropriate to the unit. Other duties include training and leading student supervisors subordinate students and Temporary Appointment University Staff in food/beverage production sanitation and customer service.
Daily responsibilitieswill include monitoring and maintaining inventory of products and supplies assuring the display of products is attractive and pricing is accurate and that the unit(s) are properly staffed. Menu items prepared on site will utilize approved recipes and proper timing of production to assure that products are fresh and that waste is minimized. The incumbent will interact with customers to promote sales and is responsible for accurate cash handling and customer service.
