Job Description

Research Assistant I/II in the Centre for Psycho-oncology Research & Teaching and the Division of Behavioural Sciences of the School of Public Health(Ref.: 533245) (to commence as soon as possible for a one-year temporary term contract with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Bachelors degree preferably in psychology social sciences sport science or related disciplines. They should have a good command of both spoken and written Chinese and English; good communication and interpersonal skills; knowledge of basic statistics; proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (including Word Excel and PowerPoint); and English and Chinese word processing. They should be a self-motivated and organized team player. Experience in research and using SPSS for data analysis is highly preferred. A keen interest in psycho-oncology research would be an advantage.

The appointee will conduct cancer patient recruitment in clinical settings; perform face-to-face/phone assessments with patients; assist in data analysis and compiling progress report; and perform other duties as assigned. He/She will work closely with the multidisciplinary team from HKU Jockey Club Institute of Cancer Care on an implementation study. He/She may be involved in CBT-based intervention studies for cancer patients. Enquiries about the duties of the post should be sent to Dr. Danielle Ng at .
