Job Summary
Pay: $24.04 - $36.06 per hour
Job description:
Note: This position requires employees to be on-site five days a week at our clients Overland Park KS office.
Note: The qualified candidate for this position must have at least 2 years of civil litigation defense experience (medical malpractice personal injury product liability or wrongful death preferred).
Note: Our client is open to both full-time and contract paralegals with strong potential for a contract role to convert to a permanent position. Hours are 8-5 or 9-6 with an hour lunch.

Job Description
- Provide comprehensive paralegal support to attorneys handling litigation defense matters
- Manage case files from start to finish including organization deadlines and billing
- Review and analyze medical records and other evidence
- Conduct legal research and prepare summaries of regulations case law and depositions
- Draft edit and proofread legal documents pleadings and correspondence
- Assist with trial preparation including preparing exhibits and witness coordination
- Maintain direct communication with clients witnesses and opposing counsel
- Support attorneys with administrative tasks such as calendaring and document filing
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of civil litigation defense experience required (medical malpractice personal injury product liability wrongful death)
- Bachelors degree required; paralegal certificate a plus
- Strong knowledge of court rules filing procedures and case management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook
- Highly organized detail-oriented and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

More Info About Role: This person is the lawyers right-hand in lawsuits. They help with everything from organizing case files reviewing medical records and talking to clients to preparing evidence for court. The firm mainly defends people and companies in cases like medical malpractice personal injury or product liability. The key here is civil litigation defense experience if they dont have at least 2 years of it they wont be a fit.
