Job Description

The Post and Courier is seeking a motivated and reliable Customer Service Representative to join our Circulation this role youll be the trusted voice of our organization helping print and digital subscribers across South Carolina. Youll work directly with our subscribers to resolve issues answer questions and ensure they feel supported and valued. The right candidate will have a positive attitude a problem-solving mindset and a commitment to strengthening subscriber trust every day.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Respond to subscriber inquiries via phone (inbound and outbound) email SMS/text and chat in a timely and thoughtful manner.
  • Proactively reach out to subscribers to resolve billing or service issues support retention efforts and strengthen relationships.
  • Accurately enter and update subscriber information generate reports and assist with data audits.
  • Ensure retention and customer service initiatives are achieved through knowledge of the company subscriber benefits customer procedures and policies and value-driven strategy
  • Prepare and process renewal/billing letters account updates and other subscriber communications.
  • Work closely with team to resolve technical issues as well as delivery concerns.
  • Provide administrative support to Circulation Marketing Audience Retention and Customer Service managers as needed.
  • Serve as a backup dispatcher for subscriber complaints.
  • Step in to support other positions or projects as requested.
  • Monday through Friday availability required; occasional weekend support may be needed.

Requirements minimum education level and experience:

  • Associates Degree in Arts/Science preferred.
  • At least 2 years of customer service experience (call center experience a plus).

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to build trust quickly.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills patience and empathy when handling subscriber concerns.
  • Willingness to learn new skills in an industry that is evolving every day.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based programs.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Self-motivated creative flexible willing to take initiative be accountable and able to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A positive team-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving goals and delivering results.

Physical Requirements:

Close eye work continuous sitting constant walking standing listening and light to moderate lifting 15-30 pounds (per safety policy).
