Major tasks and responsibilities of position
This position has a global scope focusing on the development and positioning of Color-Material-Finishing (CMF) content and capabilities aiming at enhancing and differentiating EPs product portfolio for the targeted customer segments.
One of the key objectives is to achieve together with the other functions a successful positioning of Covestros EP as a relevant player in early customer innovation phases specifically during creation design and development of new products or applications.
External view
- Market Research and Analysis:Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends customer needs and opportunities for innovation in collaboration with Marketing and Sales functions. Use insights to align strategy and drive joint development activities.
- Develop and Implement CMF Positioning:Lead the development and implementation of EPs CMF-related capabilities and services targeting designers and CMF functions at key customers start-up communities and the creative industry.
- Innovate Customer Experience:Continuously innovate and enhance the CMF customer experience ensuring seamless integration of services samples and materials in both digital and physical environments.
- Build and Nurture Networks:Establish and maintain strong relationships with design contacts and communities globally focusing on the creative industry and academia to expand Covestros influence and reach. Participation to conferences and design awards in prime focus.
- Content Creation and Communication:Develop and deliver compelling content for positioning Covestros design color and CMF capabilities ensuring a strong offering for the relevant stakeholders in both virtual and physical spaces.
Internal view
- Facilitate Internal CMF Network Building:Organize and facilitate the establishment of strong relationships within the Covestro CMF communities globally to ensure aligned and enabled local response to customers.
- Internal Advocacy and Training:Advocate for Covestros Color & Design offerings internally providing training and tools to commercial functions to build a robust reputation customer side and enable portfolio differentiation community.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:Strengthen linkages with product development marketing and application development teams to deliver cohesive positioning of selected industry segments.
- Digitalization of CMF:Contribute with CMF content and customer experience concepts to the enhancement of our Imagio digital presence to ensure high attractiveness to all relevant stakeholders through digital reach.
Qualifications
Education skills experiences and personal characteristics necessary for success in this position
- 10 years plus relevant industry experience (plastics polycarbonates experience ideally) in the fields of color technologies industrial/product design material/application development business development.
- Solid academic education in relevant disciplines (master or Ph.D.) industrial design material science ideally technical background with additional multidisciplinary subject in combination.
- Cultural & mental agility best shown by multinational experiences
- Excellent communication skills in English and at least one additional Asian language (Chinese and/or Japanese).
- Excellent networking skills strong collaborator and facilitator and ability to motivate and develop/train people.
- Creative and solution-oriented mindset with strong customer focus and business insights.
- Passion for color and aesthetics able to identify technical and aesthetical trends and translate them into technical/material/service solutions in EP inhouse and the other way round.
