Specialist: Guarantees
Job Purpose
The Guarantee Specialist plays a key role in the processing issuance and management of guarantee instruments. This position ensures that all guarantee transactions are executed accurately efficiently and in compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements. The role supports both operational delivery and client service excellence within a high-volume compliance-sensitive environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Process and issue various types of guarantees (e.g. bid bonds performance guarantees advance payment guarantees property).
- Ensure all documentation is complete accurate and compliant with internal and external requirements.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and clients to resolve queries and provide guidance on guarantee processes.
- Monitor and manage guarantee expiries amendments and cancellations.
- Maintain accurate records and audit trails for all guarantee transactions.
- Support the team in meeting service level agreements (SLAs) and turnaround times.
- Assist in identifying process improvements and contribute to risk mitigation efforts.
- Collaborate with the Senior Specialist and other team members on complex or strategic transactions.

Requirements
- Successfully completed NQF Level 6 or Higher in Finance Banking or a related field.
- Minimum 23 years experience in trade finance guarantees or a similar operational role.
- Strong understanding of guarantee instruments and regulatory requirements.
- Experience working in a high-volume deadline-driven environment.
- A clear credit and criminal record a must.
