The opportunity:

Join AIA New Zealand as a Learning and Development Lead and play a crucial role in shaping our this role you will support the Head of Change and Capability by designing developing implementing and managing strategic and operational L&D initiatives that align with our vision. You will lead the development of learning governance standards and infrastructure to ensure sustainable and effective organizational learning solutions fostering our growth as a learning organization.

As the L&D Lead you will provide technical leadership and coaching to the AIA NZ Learning Community design and deliver top-tier blended learning solutions and manage learning programs across various curriculum areas including new employee orientation soft skills and leadership development. You will also ensure compliance with risk and audit requirements related to learning and drive the functionality reporting and analytics of our Workday learning system.

This senior role within the People & Culture function requires autonomy collaboration and the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels. If you are passionate about continuous learning and development and ready to make a significant impact we invite you to join our team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and develop targeted initiatives to improve individual and team performance.

  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and act as the main contact for L&D queries.

  • Provide expert advice on L&D trends best practices and issues.

  • Lead cross-functional project teams to deliver L&D initiatives using employee-centered design and agile methods.

  • Research and evaluate new L&D strategies and programs staying updated on trends and best practices.

  • Establish credibility as a trusted advisor and support the integration of L&D activities into business unit plans.

  • Develop evaluation strategies to assess the impact of L&D programs.

  • Manage Workday Learning functionality including reporting and data insights.

  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders including vendors and consultants.

  • Support budget management for L&D activities to ensure objectives are met and investments deliver returns.

  • Facilitate in-person and virtual training/workshops and coordinate speakers and subject matter experts for in-house L&D programs.

Ideally youll bring:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Proven experience in relationship management with the ability to develop deep relationships at all levels including with vendors and iwi.

  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to collaborate and find business solutions.

  • Extensive (5 years) experience in designing developing delivering and evaluating L&D strategies and frameworks within a corporate environment.

  • Experience using co-design methods such as human-centered design organizational change management and agile ways of working.

  • Ability to identify and measure the impact of initiatives.

  • Experience in managing motivating and developing a multi-disciplinary workforce.

  • Proven ability to influence collaborate and communicate effectively at Executive and Senior Leadership levels.

  • Digitally literate with proficiency in the MS Office suite at an intermediate to advanced level; familiarity with e-learning platforms is a plus.

  • Outcome-driven with creative problem-solving skills.

  • Proven project management experience capable of managing multiple complex business programs and stakeholder expectations.

  • Up to date with the latest L&D developments and best practices able to articulate these clearly and confidently.

  • Qualified in coaching or psychometrics

  • Financial services and/or corporate experience is preferable
