We are currently looking for a:

Raging Waters Sydney - Aquatics Supervisor

About the role:

The Aquatics Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and effective operation of the lifeguard team. This role ensures that staffing levels deployment training and compliance align with organizational policies budgetary requirements industry standards and health and safety regulations.

The position requires a proactive leader who can manage day-to-day operations oversee performance and contribute to a safe and professional aquatic environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

    Roles & Responsibilities

    Being an ambassador for Raging Waters Sydney and enforcing all Policies and Standard Operating Procedures and those of Palace Entertainment and Parques Reunidos.
    Supervise and direct the day-to-day operations of lifeguards including deployment rotations and roster management.
    Ensure lifeguard staffing levels align with attendance and budgetary requirements adjusting as required.
    Oversee Head Lifeguards and Lead Operators ensuring compliance with health and safety policies procedures and operational standards.
    Ensure accurate documentation record-keeping and reporting across all aquatic operations.
    Ensure lifeguard rotations meet company standards and industry best practices.
    Conduct audits of lifeguards and enforce Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across the leadership team.
    Report any operational incidents to the Manager on Duty and Administrator On-Call.
    Act as a member of the emergency response team providing direction during incidents and participating in emergency response activities.
    Maintain a thorough understanding of the Ellis & Associates Comprehensive Aquatic Risk Management Program (CARMP) and International Lifeguard Training Program (ILTP).
    Plan coordinate and deliver high-quality engaging and practical training for aquatic team members. Develop and implement training schedules drills and ongoing professional development plans.
    Ensure completion and accurate maintenance of training records and related documentation.
    Create and deliver toolbox talks and procedural updates to support compliance and operational excellence.
    Recruit train and develop lifeguard staff in alignment with company standards and industry guidelines.
    Provide coaching mentoring and performance management of aquatic team members.
    Promote a positive and professional workplace culture motivating the team to achieve high standards of performance and safety.
    Preparation of audit administration items outlined in the Comprehensive Aquatic Risk Management Program (CARMP).


    Workplace Health & Safety

    Follow and comply with Work Health Safety policies procedures and guidelines.
    Correctly use all safety and personal protective equipment
    Act as a role model by demonstrating safe work behaviours.
    Report WHS incidents injuries and safety activities to your direct Manager and First Aid at the time it occurs.
    Promote proactive hazard/ near miss reporting. Report any hazards or near-miss incidents to your direct Manager and the People & Culture Director
    Attend Work Group Meetings to discuss and promote safety.

    Requirements
    Education:
    Essential

    Ellis & Associates International Lifeguard Training Program Special Facilities Lifeguard License (provided through Raging Waters Sydney to be obtained and maintained).
    Alive Solutions Dispatch Smart certification to be obtained and maintained.
    Current Working with Children Check.
    Desirable

    Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Instructor License (or ability to obtain).
    Tertiary Degree in Business / Recreation and Sports Management
    Certifcate IV Training and Assessment
    Demonstrate Leadership in waterpark or similar working environment.

    Languages: Fluent English

    Skills:
    Highly motivated with the ability to learn quickly and work autonomously.
    Strong leadership and supervisory capability with experience driving standards and performance.
    Excellent communication written and verbal as well as a high level of interpersonal skills.
    Ability to interact effectively with a diverse array of guests and team members and desire to assist with and resolve questions problems issues and concerns.
    Project management skills including taking the initiative and execute plans to accomplish strategic objectives in a fast-paced evolving environment.
    Ability to plan prioritise and organise work both on an individual and team basis within a set timetable and in a team environment of change and competing demands.
    Ability to work under pressure and multi-task whilst operating with key stakeholders from all business areas.
    Analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to set and manage budgets.
    Ability to apply business management skills and deliver objectives whilst working to deadlines
    Skills in handling of various safety equipment.
    Think laterally and be able to apply logical thinking to solve difficult problems.
    Excellent communication skills and leadership skills.
    Ability to interact in a professional and positive manner.

    Experience

    Experience working in a water park environment or similar aquatic/leisure role
    Experience in leading a team training and or mentoring a team.
    Experience in supervising a team.
    Experience in computer data entry.
    Experience with time attendance and rostering systems or similar.
    Strong understanding of effective rostering and labour management.

    Relationships
    Internal: General Manager / Facilities / Finance / Food & Beverage / Guest Experience/ Operations / People & Culture / Retail / Sales & Marketing.

    External: Guests/ Contractors / Suppliers / Business Partners.

    Organization
    Any other relevant comments:

    Ability to work flexible working hours including but not limited to weekends evenings and public holidays.
    Adhere to the Company Code of Conduct policy.
    Represent the Company well internally and externally; convey a professional and positive image of the organization and business affiliates.
    Be able to work in all weather conditions including sun and rain hot and cold climates indoor and outdoor work.
    To carry out all duties and responsibilities as assigned by your Direct Manager General Manager or any member of the Management Team.
    Adhere to the Employee Handbook content and requirements.

    Smoking in the workplace is allowed in designated smoking areas only where permitted by the applicable legislation of the jurisdiction.

    You are required to have a high level of physical fitness stamina and be physically fit. Physical requirements include but are not limited to:

    Walking Carrying Lifting
    Reaching Bending Pushing
    Pulling Squatting Sitting
    Standing Twisting Repetitious movement
