Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Senior Associate Athletic Director of External Affairs the Promotions and Fan Engagement Specialist is responsible for strategically planning and executing all marketing efforts for the department of Athletics with the goals of increasing awareness driving attendance engaging students/fans and enhancing the customer experience at athletic events. The incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day operations game-day operations promotions on-court/on-field promotions and manages the fan engagement budget.
The Promotions and Fan Engagement Specialist schedules and provides lead work direction to the students interns volunteers and Casual Workers who make up the Promotions and Fan Engagement team as well as marching/pep bands and spirit groups. The incumbent ensures compliance with conference NCAA University and CSU rules and regulations.
FLSA:Exempt (Not eligible for overtime compensation)
Anticipated Hiring Range:$4146 per month - $4478 per month

The program of Intercollegiate Athletics is organized and conducted as an integral part of the total educational program of the University. Academic excellence and athletic accomplishments go hand in hand at Sacramento State. There are three separate and unique missions in this program: to contribute to the educational objectives of the University; to provide a healthy competitive athletic experience to individual student-athletes; to serve as a public relations vehicle within the community.
The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics offers both academic courses and an intercollegiate athletics program. Academic courses offer the opportunity for individuals to gain knowledge and understanding in a particular area of expertise related to intercollegiate athletics.

Intercollegiate Athletics are members of the Big Sky Big West Western Athletic Conference Mountain Pacific Sports Federation and American Athletic Conferences. Qualifications
Entry to the first level within this classification requires knowledge of the fundamentals of public affairs and/or media relations and/or some exposure to marketing and marketing research. This background normally is obtained through a college degree which includes relevant coursework in the field and up to two years of related professional or technical addition strong written and verbal communication skills with a solid foundation in grammar spelling and the composition of various communication vehicles are essential to initial entry to this classification.
