Description

This dual-role is a key part of our Human Resources & Volunteer Department us - where we have GREAT people AND a GREAT mission!

As the Volunteer Coordinator this position will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the volunteer program from strategic recruitment efforts to the training tracking and ongoing support of our dedicated volunteers.

Simultaneously as the Human Resources Assistantthis position plays a vital role in supporting the effectiveness and efficiency of our HR department.

Qualifications

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills able to communicate effectively with a diverse population and represent BGCTM professionally to the community.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact professionalism and diplomacy.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Must be able to produce and provide data/reports in a timely manner.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn human resource information system (HRIS) and similar computer applications; familiarity with Paycom strongly preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS/ASSOCIATIONS:

  • After hire will receive mandatory on-line and in-person training including Safety Skills CPR/First Aid etc.

  • After hire will be registered with Boys and Girls Clubs of America.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelors degree preferred.

  • Minimum of two years relevant work experience preferably in a non-profit environment or a combination of education & relevant experience.

  • Human Resources experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to perform duties which require walking talking hearing standing sitting for long periods of time. May occasionally be required to bend or kneel.

  • Must be able to use hands and arms to enter data into the computer use the telephone and other office equipment.

  • Must be able to lift move manipulate and or hold objects up to 45 pounds. Objects that exceed the 45-pound weight limit require additional assistance when moving lifting or manipulating.

  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.
