Description

Details of Research Project:

The postdoctoral research fellow will engage in research experiments at the cardiovascular research institute. They will be primarily involved in experiments testing drug and device therapies using large animal models of cardiac diseases. Specifically Ishikawa lab studies therapeutic efficacy of a new device (ECMO catheter) gene therapy and anti-thrombus drug therapy for acute and chronic heart failure.



Responsibilities

Technical Duties:

Expected work include Animal in vivo & ex vivo work (catheter based procedures surgical procedures gene delivery and imaging in pigs and rodents) Tissue analysis (molecular biology histology cell culture etc) data analysis/recording manuscript preparation lab maintenance duties and lab/CVRI meetings/presentations. Required skills and knowledge include hemodynamic understanding basic cardiac physiology echocardiography and imaging analysis.



Qualifications

Educational and other Requirements for the position:

PhD MD or PhD/MD

Experience Required: None.

Goals/Outcomes of the Research Project:

To complete planned experiments data analysis and interpretation present data to the sponsors and in conferences and report as manuscripts.
