Position Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Research efforts:
Conduct independent research on virtue epistemology and the pedagogy of intellectual virtue cultivation.
Collaborate with PIs regarding the relationship between Ignatian pedagogy and the cultivation of intellectual character.
Collaborate with PIs on a public-facing essay to explain and advance LMUs grant project: Cultivating the Virtues of the Lion Mind.
Collaborate with PIs to develop materials for the initiatives educational projects (Information Literacy Module Strategic Videos Teaching Handbook etc.).
Leadership responsibilities:
Participate in regular initiative strategic planning meetings.
Prepare for and execute Faculty Learning Communities.
Collaborate with PIs to develop and execute Summer Faculty Workshops.
Collaborate with PIs to develop and execute 2027-28 Bellarmine Forum.
Program Administration
Actively participate in assessment and reporting to granting agency.
Assist PIs and Program Administrator with updates to initiative websites as needed.
Assist PIs and Program Administrator in initiative communications strategies.
Perform other related duties as assigned:
Flexibility expected within reason for support on other tasks yet unidentified as needed in order to address the goals of the LMU Intellectual Character Initiative.

Requisite Qualifications
Recently-earned (last five years) Ph.D. in Philosophy or related field with specific focus on virtue epistemology or the philosophy education. Substantive familiarity with the nature and educational importance of intellectual character.
Strong promise of research and publication success on the topics relevant to the projectapplied philosophy of education intellectual character formation the nature of specific intellectual virtues and vices etc.
A proven pattern of fruitful collaboration and successful teamwork.
Experience with similar higher-education initiatives a plus.
