General Information:
The James Madison Center for Civic Engagement is hiring two Facilitation Fellows. These Fellows will be responsible for facilitating/moderating deliberative dialogues and campus civic discourse pluralism addition Fellows will learn the skills of facilitation participate in weekly debrief sessions and ongoing program assessments and support the Centers other deliberation and dialogue programs. This is an opportunity for students interested in community problem solving conflict mediation dialogue deliberation and facilitation to develop a robust skillset in these areas while providing meaningful opportunities to peers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Participate in ongoing facilitation training offered through the Madison Center and its partners.
Facilitate/moderate weekly deliberative forums and unity meals.
Provide ongoing assessments on student deliberation outcomes.
Assist Madison Center staff in refining deliberation materials and programming in this area.
Assist with student leadership training and workshops in having difficult dialogues across divides.
Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Sophomore junior or senior with a 2.0 or better cumulative GPA
Excellent communication skills
Commitment to nonpartisanship while representing the Madison Center
Must be Federal Work Study eligible
Additional Posting Information:
This position is a 6-8 hour/week opportunity. Candidates must be available in the evenings and on select Saturdays.
Conditions of Employment:
Students must be degree-seeking students enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
