About Us:
Chess at Three is the only company in the world that teaches children as young as 3 years old how to play chess completely through fun silly stories.
Founded in New York Chess at Three is currently in a state of rapid growth and we have over 200 teachers/tutors teaching over 1000 children a week in: New York Los Angeles Singapore Hong Kong and more. We are thrilled to be expanding our original effective and fun curriculum in Hong Kong!
We are looking for fun and creative people who have experience working with children. We value fun way more than we do chess skills. We want people with passion and heart and who are driven to success - there are a wide variety of opportunities in our company. But most of all we are looking for people who possess joyous hospitality - people who see teaching children and building relationships with parents as an enjoyable and meaningful service.
About The Opportunity:
Chess at Three is looking to hire storytellers/teachers/tutors to teach chess privately and in schools to children primarily aged from 3 to 10 one on one and in small groups of about 5 to 8. Familiarity/ interest in the game of chess is helpful but you do not need to be a chess player right now. We have a unique pedagogy that will enable you to teach children as young as 3 to play chess!
Position Requirements :
- Native or near native English speaker
- Fun animated and great with children.
- Heart for hospitality and serving children.
- Driven personality/entrepreneurial spirit.
- Extremely organized and responsible.
- Not afraid to ask for referrals or seek new lesson opportunities (schools families local communities etc).
- Interest in the game of chess but no prior knowledge required
- Experience as a performing artist teacher or early childhood professional is a plus.
- Bachelors degree is preferred.
- Tutors are expected to be responsive and accountable to the families and schools of our students.
Salary guideline :
- Hourly: HK$400 and up
Schedule:
- Weekdays after school
- Weekends
- Choose your own hours
