IT Technician in the Learning Environment Services Team in the Information Technology Services (ITS) (Ref.:533608)
Information Technology Services provides central IT services to support the Universitys teaching learning research and administrative activities. ITS is transforming its organization to support its new strategic development and strategic adoption of new technologies. Information about ITS can be obtained at are seeking high caliber candidates to join us to provide quality technical assistance in the Learning Environment Services for the University community.
The Role
- Offer technical assistance in supporting centrally timetabled classrooms
- Maintain and resolve issues related to classroom equipment (both audio-visual and IT)
- Provide general classroom support including hotline services
- Work on shifts during weekends and on public holidays occasionally
Qualifications and Qualities
- A diploma or above in Information Technology/Engineering/Multi-Media/Theatre and Entertainment Arts or a related discipline
- At least 3 years relevant post-qualification experience in audio-visual fields
- A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
- Strong communication customer service analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated and a good team player
- Preferably with some of the following experience/knowledge/qualifications:
- Setup maintenance and troubleshooting of audio-visual equipment and system (e.g. signal issues connectivity problems and optimization of system performance)
- Familiarity with audiovisual equipment audio mixing boards amplifiers and audio - signal processing equipment
- PC (including Virtual PC) configuration management and support
- Certification on ITIL CTS and relevant experience in project management

What We Offer
The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years and commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
