We are looking for an experienced Database Specialist to design optimize and maintain our database systems focusing on MSSQL and PostgreSQL. This role offers the opportunity to drive database performance security and innovation in a collaborative environment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Designing and managing database structures including schemas tables views and indexes.
- Optimizing database performance through query tuning and structural improvements.
- Implementing and managing backup recovery and high-availability strategies.
- Monitoring database health and resolving performance bottlenecks.
- Developing scripts to automate database tasks and support CI/CD pipelines.
- Ensuring data security and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Collaborating with teams to support database-related development and operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field.
- 5 years of experience managing MSSQL and PostgreSQL databases.
- Expertise in SQL development and performance optimization techniques.
- Strong knowledge of database security backup and disaster recovery processes.
- Familiarity with high-availability solutions and monitoring tools.
- Experience with cloud-based databases like Azure SQL AWS RDS or Google Cloud SQL.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python PowerShell or Bash.
- Understanding of containerized environments including Docker or Kubernetes.
- Relevant certifications in MSSQL or PostgreSQL administration are a plus.
