Founded in 1971 and situated in the greater Las Vegas metropolitan area the College of Southern Nevada is the most ethnically diverse college in Nevada and the first to receive the HSI designation. This position is required to teach didactic and laboratory courses. Assignments may be multi-campus with day evening and/or weekend classes.
Develop course syllabi and materials.
Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes.
Maintain office hours to provide student advisement participate in recruitment activities and program/curriculum development.
Participate in School Department and Program meetings and activities.
Serve on School Department and College-Wide committees.
Other duties as assigned by Chair for needs of the office division and institution.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university current licensure at the paramedic level or greater 3 years EMS experience at the Paramedic level or greater current active National Registry or state certification/licensure as a paramedic or greater (SNHD paramedic certification required within 90 days) and level II EMS Instructor endorsement or Master EMS Instructor endorsement or equivalent as determined by the Southern Nevada Health District Office of EMS and Trauma Systems (SNHD Instructor Endorsement required within 90 days of hire).
OR
Associates degree from an accredited college/university current licensure at the paramedic level or greater 7 years EMS experience at the paramedic level or greater current active National Registry or state certification/licensure as a paramedic or greater (SNHD paramedic certification required within 90 days of hire) level II EMS Instructor endorsement or Master EMS Instructor endorsement or equivalent as determined by the Southern Nevada Health District Office of EMS and Trauma Systems (SNHD Instructor Endorsement required within 90 days of hire).
OR
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Current instructor certification or equivalent in at least one of the following: ACLS CPR/BLS PALS PHTLS ITLS AMLS.
Advanced paramedic credentials (CCP-C FP-C NCEE).
Formal higher education in curriculum and instruction workforce education or similar educational training.
Prior didactic experience in the didactic setting with knowledge and expertise in all levels of the NHSTA-DOT National Standard Curricula.
Membership in professional organizations.
Documentation of active participation within local EMS community.
Documentation of on-going professional development within the EMS discipline.
Experience working with a diverse/multicultural student body and/or workforce.
Starting Salary Information
Initial salary placement is based on educational level and total years of full-time equivalent teaching experience. For example for an instructor with a Masters degree the salary range would be $58046 to $74304 annually. The entire salary range is up to $89166 annually with a Doctorate and 10 years experience. A maximum of 10 years of experience will be considered for initial salary placement purposes or Market Factor.
The selected candidate may choose Tenure Track or Market Factor salary.
Market Factor Salary: $53533.00
Bargaining unit Faculty members hired are eligible for relocation expenses reimbursement in accordance with the College of Southern Nevada Faculty Contract CSN-NFA Contract 2022-25.
