The Opportunity

Were excited to continue to build the Battery Energy Storage System team in Asia to support the energy transition. Mott MacDonald is looking for an Energy Storage Specialist and the role can be based in Singapore Malaysia Taiwan Thailand Republic of Korea or Japan. This role will be involved with working on our energy storage projects globally but with a focus on Asia focus in your role will be responsible for the technical delivery of our work in providing consulting engineering services on energy storage and energy projects globally and regionally supporting the growth and improving the technical performance of the regional team.

As part of your role as an energy storage specialist and project manager you will be required to undertake the following:

  • Provide specialist technical inputs in the delivery of battery energy storage system (BESS) related projects globally with an immediate focus on the Asia Pacific region. From microgrids to utility scale energy storage often in collaboration with our renewable energy team.
  • Interface with clients at all levels manage contractual relationships and respond to business opportunities
  • Lead projects according to Mott MacDonald quality assurance system
  • Manage project resources coordinating specialist discipline input from other parts of the organisation
  • Develop and maintain our knowledge base of current technical standards and practices
  • Support in driving our digital strategy within the Energy sector.

You will also be expected to see beyond the immediate project and develop relationships with clients and with other sectors within Mott MacDonald to build further business

About You:

  • A degree in electrical engineering preferably with a specialization in power systems renewable energy and/or sustainable energy technology
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience including working on (conceptual) designs simulation and/or deployment of BESS
  • Experience working on renewable energy projects (e.g. Solar PV wind and hydropower) would be a strong advantage
  • Experience with power system simulation tools (PSSE DigSilent PowerFactory or similar) and/or microgrid and hybrid energy system simulation tools (Homer Pro Homer Grid) would be a strong advantage
  • Project management skills and experience in an international multicultural environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability build client relationships and generate new business opportunities
  • Travel as required by projects and/or business opportunities
