Job Description

Job Opportunity: Physician - Hospitalist - OB

Join an esteemed healthcare system as a full-time board-certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist in Grand Rapids Michigan. This position offers a dynamic patient-centered practice environment in a high-acuity Labor and Delivery unit allowing you to make a significant impact on maternal and newborn health outcomes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-house obstetric care and manage laboring and postpartum patients.
  • Manage obstetric emergencies deliveries and unassigned OB/GYN patients.
  • Round enter orders triage maternal patients and cover emergency GYN consults.
  • Collaborate with experienced clinical support staff including L&D RNs and Neonatologists.
  • Operate alongside a Level III NICU for high-risk newborn care.
  • Educate and supervise OB/GYN residents fellows and medical students.
  • Collaborate with OBs and Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Rotate through 24-hour shifts (67 per month) including holiday coverage.
  • Participate in a supportive environment prioritizing safety for both mother and baby.
  • Experience with OB and GYN surgery is required; new grads are not accepted.

Qualifications:

  • Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in OB/GYN (must achieve certification within 2 years).
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in OB/GYN required.
  • Valid Michigan medical license required at the time of employment.
  • DEA license BLS and ACLS certifications required; maintenance of recertification is necessary.
  • Clean malpractice and license history is highly preferred.

License and Certification Requirements:

  • Valid Michigan license.
  • DEA license.
  • BLS and ACLS certification with maintenance of recertification.
