Job Description
We are looking for a Seed Production Agronomist to join our clients team.
Salary and Benefits:
- Negotiable
Responsibilities:
- Ensure seed production/procurement and quality targets are achieved
- Implement seed value chain from production processing packaging and distribution to meet market standards in the right quantities in the right time
- Understand the strategic direction of the business and produce procure process and distribute seed in support of the business mandate and implement accordingly
- Facilitate the Seed Operations budget preparation using best practices approval and review process in order to match stipulated budget against expenditure
- Provide capacity development on internal managers and staff on the seed varieties to provide stakeholders with the requisite information that will assist the organisation in meeting its mandate
- Oversee the testing of seed for germination and purity to meet set standards
- Ensure that local seed production is undertaken by suitably skilled small scale and large scale out growers and correct seed is grown in correct area
- Liaise with the marketing department regarding the ordering of seed to ensure the availability at all times
- Implement ideas on new products from the marketing manager
