Job Description

Our client in the service sector is seeking an experienced and dedicated Head Chef to join their team.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Negotiable.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the kitchen team in the preparation and presentation of high-quality meals in line with company standards.
  • Plan and design menus that are seasonal cost-effective and aligned with client or guest preferences.
  • Ensure consistent food quality portion control and timely service during all meal periods.
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations including food preparation cooking plating and hygiene practices.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate the ordering and proper storage of ingredients and kitchen supplies.
  • Implement and enforce health safety and food hygiene standards in line with local regulations.
  • Train mentor and supervise kitchen staff to maintain high performance and team morale.
  • Manage kitchen budgets control food costs reduce waste and track expenditures.
  • Liaise with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth communication and excellent guest experience.
  • Conduct regular inspections and ensure maintenance of kitchen equipment and workstations.

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent culinary skills with a creative and innovative approach to menu development.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety hygiene and kitchen operations.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Financial acumen for budgeting stock control and cost management.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain consistency during high-volume service.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail in food presentation and quality.
  • Proficiency in kitchen management systems and basic computer skills.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Culinary Arts Professional Cookery or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional kitchen experience with at least 2 years in a head chef or senior role.
  • Food Safety and Hygiene Certification (mandatory).
  • Experience in menu planning staff training and kitchen administration.
  • Previous experience in hotels lodges camps or high-end restaurants is an added advantage.
