Title: Project Manager - Hybrid
Duration: 6 Months
Location: Chicago IL (Local is preferred but flexible for the right person)
Hours Per Day: 8.00
Hours Per Week: 40.00
Candidate will be required to go into the office at least 2 times a week
Description
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Leads the Project Management functions and activities.
  • Leads projects with identifying issues and risks and ensuring the issues and risk are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Provides leadership and mentoring on project management best practices (including scope time cost communications and risk management) for team members.
  • Ensures that the responsibilities authorities and accountability of all project staff are defined and understood.
  • Identifies cross-organizational barriers that impact multiple projects or programs and ensures these barriers are removed.
  • Works with senior management across Information Technology and the business area(s) to accomplish this.
  • Consults with IT and Business Leaders to review initial investment initiatives to determine goals time frame funding limitations procedures for accomplishing a project estimated staffing requirements and allotment of resources.
  • Ensures the accuracy and timeliness of project financials.
  • Leads directs and has full management accountability for staff in area of responsibility with an emphasis on talent management and succession planning in accordance with corporate strategic direction.
  • Sets direction for project management practices processes and procedures.
  • Ensures consistency of project management practices across Projects.
  • Builds a community of practice for all project managers.
  • Facilitates and encourages the sharing and adoption of best practices and lessons learned across all project managers.
  • Manage and coordinate team members tasks and performance
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Plan and track project activities and milestones
  • Oversee P1 delivery schedules and ensure timely execution
  • Maintain and enforce scheduled protocols and processes
  • Support application development lifecycle activities
  • Document project progress and forecast timelines
  • Allocate and monitor project budgets efficiently
Additional Requirements:
  • A senior-level PM with experience leading large-scale cross-functuonal projects.
  • Must possess strong leadership communication skills and experience working senior executives (minimum of 10-12 years).
  • Enterprise PM experience - managing multi-million dollar projects involving cross-functional teams MSPs and multiple vendors.
  • Strong financial acumen of project accounting budgeting operational costs accruals capital vs. expense project activities.
  • Ability to manage/drive multiple projects and work streams.
  • Technical acumen with the following is a plus: Security tool implementations and upgrades Identity Access Management Enterprise Change Management

Skills Knowledge and Abilities
  • In depth technical knowledge of project management practices and processes.
  • Ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels of external and/or internal business partners within scope of responsibility team and/or matrix environment.
  • Leadership and management skills demonstrating integrity and professionalism.
  • Ability to drive results by identifying and resolving problems within scope of responsibility.
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry its products and services.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree required masters degree not mandatory
  • Typically a minimum of tenyears of related work experience with five years management experience.
  • PMP Safe Agile Applicable certifications preferred.
