TheBilingual Services Lead Teacher develops and leads the Bilingual and ESLprogramming curriculum instruction and assessment for English Learners (ELs)at the campus-level in consultation with school leadership and the Director ofEnglish Learners. They relentlessly pursue student growth and achievementthrough program review and development careful planning and instructionalexecution and on-going collaboration with colleagues and the school leadershipteam.

CoreResponsibilities

Leadershipand Professionalism:

  • Develop and demonstrate continuous improvement of a Bilingual and ESL program for ELs at the campus level.
  • Analyze and report on program developments and progress for the purpose of identifying trends best practice and development opportunities.
  • Clearly an accurately communicate with families of ELs regarding student services progress and to address other needs via letter and newsletter communications phone calls and in-person meetings.
  • Clearly and accurately communicate with school leadership colleagues students and the larger academic communityto improve academic outcomes for all students.
  • Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with staff students and partner organizations to support student needs.
  • Demonstrate collegial behavior and make professional development contributions to the school community.
  • Engage in self-initiated focused reflective work and collaborate with the Principal.
  • Exhibit personal responsibility for daily work and attendance personal appearance student learning and school success.

StudentAchievement and Success:

  • Ensure high academic standards are set for and met by all students.
  • Develop and execute a rigorous standards-based curriculum.
  • Differentiate curriculum instruction and individualized learning plans to meet individual student needs.
  • Use student performance data derived from teacher-created and standardized assessments to drive instructional decision-making.
  • Collaborate with an Instructional Coach to develop and execute a Professional Growth Plan.

Commitmentto School and Classroom Culture:

  • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.
  • Develop positive relationships with students.
  • Develop classroom rules for behavior that are consistent with the school-wide rules and Acero Schools Student Code of Conduct.
  • Develop positive relationships with parents for the purpose of creating a support for students and their education program.
  • Assist in promoting the participation of students parents and other members of the staff in Acero Schools-initiated activities.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelors degree (required)
  • Candidate must be able to demonstrate the academic progress of students under his/her leadership and articulate the methods used to achieve those results

PhysicalDemands

Thenature of the work requires an ability to operate standard business officeequipment and the ability to communicate and exchange information collectcompile and prepare work documents set-up and maintain work files. Physicaldemands include the ability to stand bend reach high and low stoop and walkaround the classroom 60% of the addition candidates must be able tolift and/or push and pull 15 to 20lbs for short periods of time and walk upand down stairs several times a day.

Working Conditions

Majorityof work is performed in a general office environment. Position requiresavailability for extended hours plus non-traditional hours required to performjob duties. Also requires participation and attendance atorganization-sponsored events and meetings.
