We are seeking a Configuration Management (CM) Specialist to join a dedicated team responsible for executing hardware configuration management activities in a dynamic defense development and production environment. This role is critical in managing changes to approved configurations and ensuring compliance with established CM processes and standards.
The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise and organizational skills to support the delivery and maintenance of engineering technical data packages (TDPs) configuration audits and document control in accordance with company and government standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform Hardware Configuration Management (CM) activities in support of system design development and production
Manage engineering change processes and control approved configurations using a systematic and measurable change process
Deliver and maintain Technical Data Packages (TDPs) in alignment with CM plans and procedures
Support configuration audits and collaborate with Quality Assurance teams
Use company procedures and policies to develop solutions to problems of moderate scope and complexity
Prepare CM metrics reports and documentation using Microsoft Office tools
Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) or Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems
Strong skills in Microsoft Office especially Excel Word and PowerPoint
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail time management and organizational skills
Solid interpersonal abilities to effectively coordinate with internal teams customers and suppliers
Minimum 2 years of configuration management or equivalent experience
Associates Degree in a technical discipline or 4 years of relevant CM experience
Experience with DoD programs
Familiarity with PTC Windchill and Oracle ERP systems
Experience managing BOM (Bill of Materials) structures
Working knowledge of configuration and design standards such as:
MIL-HDBK-61A MIL-STD-31000
EIA-649 (CM industry standard)
ASME Y14.24 ASME Y14.100 (drawing and documentation standards)
Formal training in Configuration Data Management (CDM)
Advanced skills in MS Excel (e.g. complex formulas reporting tools)
Familiarity with CMMI requirements
Required: Associates Degree in a technical field OR 4 years of Configuration Management experience
Preferred: Bachelors Degree in a STEM field OR 8 years of Configuration Management experience
