Executive Director of Student Support Services JOB SUMMARY Provide and direct professional oversight support and guidance to all students enrolled in the Arkansas Colleges of Health Education. The primary focus will be related to student services student wellness and student activities and events.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide support and oversight for areas of student services including social support and student mental wellness student activity programming student events and other support efforts for health professions students
- Provides oversight and planning for student leadership opportunities student organization volunteer projects and student campus events on and off campus
- Conceptualize develop and implement educational programs and workshops regarding student professionalism in and outside of the classroom
- Has oversight of the Student Wellness Counselor and all mental wellness resource contracts
- Serves as the key advisor for the Student Government Association Board
- Has oversight of ACHE registered student organizations
- Assist in the oversight of operations within the Student Services division
- Serve as advocate for students to the faculty and the administration.
- Evaluate and maintain existing student services student leadership and volunteer opportunities
- In conjunction with Institutional Research conduct needs assessments and analyze trends to develop new or modify current student volunteer and leadership programs
- Create initiatives that support the personal social cultural and educational development of students
- Collaborates with administrators faculty staff and academic departments campus-wide to improve student success particularly among marginalized student populations and other specific student groups.
- Lead efforts toward building and sustaining a diverse inclusive and culturally vibrant campus that fosters an inclusive and intercultural learning environment while supporting a sense of belonging engagement and academic success for students.
- Collaborate with the Sr. Assistant Dean Student Affairs regarding implementation and assessment of policies and procedures related to student issues.
- Ensure and guarantee privacy confidentiality with particularly sensitive controversial and personal data.
- Respond to students in crisis
- Coordinate with key personnel on college functions including but not limited to New Student Orientation White Coat Ceremonies Commencement Week and Graduation and other large-scale campus events involving students.
- Implement program priorities for the division that link to divisional and institutional objectives
- Serve on ACHE Committees and Councils as assigned
- This position supervises professional staff in the Student Services division as well as student leaders
- Attend student personnel services and other professional conferences to advance professional skills and services to students
- Other duties as assigned by the Senior Assistant Dean of Student Affairs or their designee
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS Education and Experience Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree
- Three (3) to five (5) years progressive experience within student personnel services or closely related field in higher education
- Leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications - Masters degree in student personnel services or closely related field
- Five (5) years of progressive experience in student personnel services
- Demonstrated experience in student success initiatives student leadership advisement campus event planning
- Previous experience at a health professions college or university within student affairs or student services divisions
Required knowledge skills and abilities - Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy
- Display professionalism for the college in all communication and interaction
- Ability to prioritize and organize numerous and varied assignments
- Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills i.e. Microsoft Office
- Availability beyond normal work week hours

- May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies to include but not limited to pens pencils calculators computer keyboards telephone etc.
- May be required to transport oneself to other campus offices conference rooms and on occasion to off-campus sites to attend meetings conferences workshops seminars etc.
- May require significant travel or work away from campus.
- Requires attendance at events representing ACHE both within as well as outside of the college setting.
- Frequently required to work at a desk conference table or in meetings of various configurations.
- Frequently required to see for purposes of reading matter.
- Frequently required to hear and understand speech at normal levels.
- Occasionally required to lift items in a normal office environment.
- Frequently required to operate office and presentation equipment.
